State of the art for the state of your heart

As one of the leading facilities in the nation for cardiovascular care, MUSC Heart & Vascular Center deploys some of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies in existence, including state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratories, and the only integrated cardiac imaging and interventional radiology center in the state.

Housed here, for example, is the newly-introduced 64-slice CT scanner.  MUSC is the first hospital in the Southeast – and the only one in the area – to acquire this remarkable diagnostic device, which may reduce the need for catheterization in some patients.

In addition, the center features an advanced 3-D angiography system and a new high-speed cardiac MRI.  We're also the only medical organization in the state with a magnetic navigational catheterization system, which allows for the examination and treatment of blood vessels and arteries that previously could not have been reached.
