Child in speech therapy

Structured play and parent and parent and caregiver training are provided during therapy for conditions such as stuttering and difficulties in speech articulation, pragmatic language, receptive and expressive language.

The Evelyn Trammell Institute provides comprehensive speech, language, feeding and swallowing services for children of all ages, focusing on advanced patient care, education and research.

Auditory-verbal therapy is offered for children with hearing impairment.  The institute also provides services related to the prevention and correction of vocal disorders, congenital laryngeal anomalies, stenotic airways and singing-related vocal problems in children.

Care is also given to infants and children with feeding problems. Specialists work in coordination with the  family physician or pediatrician to build sustained nutrition in the infant and child.

“The strength of the program is the multidisciplinary approach that draws together a dynamic and diverse team,” says Diane Andrews, coordinator of the speech-language program.
